Is Sushi healthy? Yes, but wait.

Avoid fried sushi like tempura because all healthy nutrients are gone.

Fresh Sushi contains fresh fish resulting in high portions of proteins and healthy fats.

The fresh vegetables add minerals and vitamins.

The white rice and addition of sugar is the culprit in sushi. Depending on the cooking, it will contain higher levels of sugars and will lack fibers. This also makes people eat too many sushi… resulting in higher calories when eating more than 6 sushis.

Let’s reimagine sushi. If the white rice is replaced by the whole grain variants of brown, red or … rice, people would be full and satisfied more quickly but they would also be more healthy. Great for the health, bad for the sushi business I am afraid 😇
